Kody Leibowitz is a multi-talented writer, director, producer, and co-founder of BirdMine, a production company that specializes in creating socially-driven films that elevate untold, powerful stories about underrepresented communities.

He recently executive produced Birdmine's debut film, Thirteen, and co-directed the upcoming feature documentary, Meandering Scars, with his partner Allison Norlian.

The debut documentary took the filmmaking partners on a more than three-year adventure across the globe to document the journey of a wheelchair athlete’s pursuit of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise awareness about suicide/suicidal ideation within the disability community.

Before pursuing film, Leibowitz was a multi-award-winning investigative journalist who specialized in long-form stories and documentaries, most recently working as an investigative reporter at FOX13 in Memphis, Tenn. Leibowitz began his reporting career at 47ABC in Salisbury, Md., in August 2012. He has worked nationwide for over seven years as a local television news reporter. As a political reporter, Leibowitz extensively covered the 2018 California gubernatorial primary race and Trump vs. California lawsuits, including the federal government's suit over the state's undocumented immigration laws. In Johnstown, Pa., Leibowitz investigated the scheme of how several Pennsylvania dioceses settled clergy sex abuse cases.
