Offering a poignant portrayal of resilience and hope within San Quentin State Prison, What These Walls Won't Hold provides an insider's perspective into life behind bars. Originating from the Bay Area, my filmmaking journey began while incarcerated within these walls. This documentary weaves a narrative of camaraderie, shedding light on the intimate connections formed amidst the challenges of incarceration.

Returning home from prison in 2020, I directed and produced What These Walls Won't Hold with the aim of illuminating the bonds forged during the COVID-19 pandemic. My goal was to utilize the film's platform to bridge the gap between those affected by incarceration, fostering communication across the prison walls. The production process held immense significance, allowing me to challenge unethical practices witnessed within the filmmaking industry, where stories from inside are often exploited. Notably, all participants in the film are dear friends of mine, ensuring their stories are portrayed with accuracy and care.

I invite you to watch the trailer and learn more about What These Walls Won’t Hold.
