Grania Gurievitch
Grania Gurievitch has been an independent filmmaker for the past 24 years. In addition to working with nonprofit organizations to produce fundraising videos, she specializes in motivational films on issues related to education, minority groups, aging, medicine, parenting, and the environment. She has been president of Prospect Media, Inc, a nonprofit media development, production and distribution organization since 1986. She founded TOGG Films, Inc. with a partner in 1971 and was its president from 1979-90. She is co-producer of The Living Series which produced the first three videotapes to focus on the emotional issues of living with chronic illness (tapes on diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease). Grania Gurievitch is currently a member of the Steering Committee of New Day Films. Grania Gurievitch's documentary films are noted for their sensitivity, intimacy and credibility. Her work has won more than 50 awards. Other honors include participation in New Directors/New Films, sponsored by the Film Society of Lincoln Center and Museum of Modern Art in New York City; the American Film Institute's Tribute to New Day Films; International Festival of Women's Films; Margaret Mead Film Festival; U.S. Film Festival.
