Chuck Braverman
Chuck has been nominated four times by the Directors Guild of America and won the best feature documentary award in 2001 for HIGH SCHOOL BOOT CAMP. Also in 2001 Chuck was nominated for an Academy Award for his New Day documentary CURTAIN CALL about the Actors Fund retirement home. In addition, Chuck's directing credits include a feature film and several two hour movies for television and many episodic television shows. In the last couple of years Braverman has produced and/or directed projects for The Discovery Channel, TLC, Discovery Health, The History Channel, Animal Planet, HBO, and A&E. Chuck has a degree in Cinema from the University of Southern California where he taught directing and documentary production. Braverman is a member of the Directors Guild of America, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. MARILYN BRAVERMAN started as a professional still photographer. More recently with her husband Chuck she produced A PUG'S LIFE - THE DOGUMENTARY, www.pugvideo.com and AMERICAN PITBULL, www.pitdvd.com. Marilyn also produced HOMELESS IN PARADISE and with Chuck completed A REVOLVING DOOR, www.arevolvingdoor.com, about drug addiction and mental illness. This new film is now available at New Day. Also the Bravermans produced ABUSED, that made the Oscar short list. The film deals with battered woman's syndrom and PTSD and is available at www.abuseddocumentary.com.
